Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each student and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

Zones of Regulation
The Zones of Regulation are a framework that uses four colored zones—Blue, Green, Yellow, and Red—to help individuals identify and manage their emotions and state of alertness. The Blue Zone represents low energy (e.g., sad, tired, bored), the Green Zone is for a calm, focused state (e.g., happy, calm, content), the Yellow Zone involves a heightened state of alertness (e.g., excited, stressed, anxious), and the Red Zone signifies extremely high states of alertness or intense emotions (e.g., angry, panicked, terrified).
Blue Zone
Description: Low energy states of alertness. This includes feeling sad, bored, tired, or sick.
Characteristics: Body and/or brain is moving slowly or sluggishly.
Green Zone
Description: A calm, focused state of alertness. This is where you are typically able to be present for learning and social interaction.
Characteristics: Feeling calm, happy, focused, and content.
Yellow Zone
Description: A heightened state of alertness. This includes feelings like excitement, stress, anxiety, or frustration.
Characteristics: May feel wiggly, squirmy, or sensory-seeking, and are starting to lose control.
Red Zone
Description: An extremely heightened state of alertness or very intense feelings.
Characteristics: Includes emotions like anger, rage, panic, or elation, where one is not in control of their body.
The framework is used to teach individuals how to recognize their feelings, understand how their emotions affect their behavior, and use personalized strategies to regulate their emotions and meet their goals.
