About our school

Broderick Gillawarna School (BGS) is a School for Specific Purpose (SSP). BGS supports students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities who present with complex learning and support needs. The school provides a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment where every student is recognised and supported to achieve their full potential.

BGS works with families, carers and support staff to make a personalised learning plan for each student. This means all students can learn in a way that suits them best.

Classrooms and other learning spaces are set up to meet each student’s needs. BGS staff make sure students feel safe, respected and ready to learn in a way that suits them. They are caring and are skilled to assist students to feel confident, connected and part of an inclusive and dynamic community.
